As head of learning and teaching I oversee all aspects of student experience and quality assurance. I chair the college L&T committee and am a member of the Senate L&T committee.
The College of Art, Science and Engineering is the university's most diverse college, incorporating the schools of Computing, Engineering, Physics and Maths, and DJCAD. Staff and students in the college are engaged in everything from sculpture to (literally) landing spacecraft on other planets.
I also chair the University's Scottish Higher Education Enhancement group (SHEEC), which is currently engaged in several projects designed to improve aspects of teaching and student experience.
Most of my time is taken with my lectureship in DJCAD (Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design) where I run several undergraduate modules, details of which can be found elsewhere on this site.
My research is practice-based, looking at aspects of pedagogy, in particular interdisciplinarity. I also examine relations between academia and industry, with a particular focus on design.
